Embodied AI

Embodied AI

The Embodied AI is a topic group focuses on advancing the integration of artificial intelligence with the physical embodiment of robotic systems, combining data-driven methods with innovations in materials, sensors, actuators, and electronics to achieve higher levels of autonomy, adaptability, and physical competence. The topic group promotes the development of new intelligent robots taking advantage not only from the development in computer sciences, but also from the design of the body and its interaction with the environment. The group brings together researchers and industry to address key challenges in robotics including perception, decision-making, human–robot interaction, and lifelong adaptation, while promoting trustworthy and explainable AI. It supports collaboration, knowledge exchange, and roadmap development to accelerate the deployment of intelligent robotic systems across sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, agriculture, and service robotics.
