Introducing a system for more secure data marketplaces
Data have become one of the most valuable commodities of our time, with the size of data markets expected to reach EUR 100 billion by 2025. The EU-funded SEDIMARK project aims to create a secure decentralised data marketplace based on distributed ledger technology and AI. Under this new system, the data will no longer be stored on the cloud but on edge systems, close to where they are generated, thus avoiding many security issues. They will then be cleaned, labelled and classified, through energy efficient techniques, making for a more secure environment where findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR) and high-quality data can be easily linked, shared and utilised.
