GenerativeAI4EU: Accelerating Quick Wins for Smart Grids
Date and time:
31 March 2025 15:00–18:00
Location:
Online

Purpose

This online event will highlight the transformative potential of Generative AI / AI in the energy sector, focusing on quick-win applications that deliver immediate value to smart grids. Presenting pioneering AI and GenAI use cases in electrical grid management, including tangible minimum viable prototypes, will highlight Europe’s strengths in AI-driven energy innovation and its leadership potential in this evolving field.

Speakers will explore key challenges, opportunities in AI adoption, and the strategic pathways for integrating GenAI into energy systems. These discussions will foster a shared understanding of how AI/GenAI can accelerate the energy transition towards decentralised grid infrastructures, enhance Europe’s global competitiveness and achieve its decarbonisation targets.

Attendees will gain valuable insights into how GenAI can improve grid operations, maintenance, planning and resilience, optimise energy flow from renewables across different adjacent sectors like e-mobility and buildings, and create new opportunities for the European industrial ecosystem.
